Bílý Halštrov – dam
The Bílý Halštrov River originates near Výhledy and after 11 kilometers in Czech territory continues into Germany as the Weisse Elster. It flows through the Halštrov Nature Park, nicknamed "Ašské Švýcarsko", and feeds the reservoir of the same name, which previously supplied local industry and drinking water.
Although access to the reservoir is restricted, the surrounding forests and romantic valleys offer beautiful views and great hiking conditions. Come and discover the beauty of this river and its surroundings!
Lookout tower Háj
In the 19th century, Háj Hill was just an unsightly bare peak. That changed when a forest park was created here and subsequently a lookout tower, the construction of which began in 1902 according to a design by Wilhelm Kreis. The 34-meter-high tower was inaugurated in 1904 and today is one of the main landmarks of the Aš region.
From the observation deck at a height of 25 meters, which is reached by 122 steps, there is a magnificent view of the Ore Mountains, Slavkov Forest and neighboring Germany. The observation tower is freely accessible from April to October.
Lookout Tower Stráž
On the state border with Germany, near Aš in the Horní Pasek region, stands the unconventional Stráž lookout tower. Originally used as a military watchtower, it now offers a unique panoramic view of the Ore Mountains.
The lookout tower, nicknamed "špačkárna", dates back to the 1970s. The observation deck at a height of 8 meters provides beautiful views of the surrounding landscape. It is located at the top (717 m above sea level) between five wind turbines.
Entrance is free, but the structure is in poor technical condition, so climbing is at your own risk. You can reach the lookout tower by following the yellow tourist sign from Háj u Aše towards the state border.
