Roots – Sculpture Symposium 2022

In 2022, the International Sculpture Symposium Roots in Aš was held on the occasion of the celebration of 150 years since the elevation of Aš to the status of a city. This event reminds us of the strength of family and civic ties, which are crucial for the life of the community. After World War II, the city suffered the loss of strong roots, but the symposium brings us not only works of art, but also an opportunity to reflect on the significance of each of us as a small but significant root of our city. Our role is to contribute to the restoration of these roots for future generations, and in doing so, we become real roots and a driving force for the city to flourish.
