Take a walk through the history of Aš through modern technology and discover the city as it looked in past centuries.
Aš was not always the way we know it today. Many buildings have disappeared, streets have changed, and the stories of places have faded into time. But thanks to the Virtual Aš project, you can relive the past. Using the modern timeTRIP application, you will walk through the city as if you had gone back 100 years. You will see defunct churches, industrial facilities, and personalities who shaped the face of Aš.
Virtual reality is available to everyone – all you need is a mobile phone or tablet, an internet connection and a desire to discover. Become explorers in time for a moment and let the history of the city speak through images and voices.

Virtual Aš works through the free mobile application timeTRIP , which is available for both Android and iOS. After downloading, you select the city of Aš and a map with virtual stops will appear. The application will intuitively guide you through the places where important historical objects used to stand, and will allow you to view them realistically in augmented reality.
Go out into the field

With your smartphone or tablet in hand, head to places like Goethe Square, the History Park, or the site of the former Evangelical Church. When you point your device's camera at a specific point on the spot, you'll see a life-size 3D model of the historic building - exactly where it originally stood. This brings not only the building itself to life, but also its story and the atmosphere of the time.
Live a virtual experience

The app displays objects and interiors, allows you to switch between historical periods, and complements the experience with period photographs, sounds, and videos. Some points even include interaction with historical figures who tell you about their lives. For each place you visit, you will receive a virtual 3D model as a souvenir, which you can view again at any time directly in the app.
