Seed library in Aš

Do you remember our Seed Swap ? The event that took place in our library during February 2025? It turned out that this project has the potential to grow just like that imaginary seed.

Our library box with seeds for exchange was noticed by Pavlína Remešová – a farmer who takes care of the Kořeny Farm . Since she herself has been growing seeds for more than ten years and takes care of a huge field that supplies food for the whole family and the family restaurant, the idea of establishing a real Seed Library in Aš under the auspices of the Semínkovna, zs association began to be born.

Very quick steps followed – registering for the Seedbed (we will soon appear in the list and map on the website), setting the opening date and planning the specific form of the entire project. Why so quickly? Because the period when nature allows sowing outdoors is approaching, and we wanted to do everything before that happens, so that you are prepared and equipped with the right seeds .

It worked!

And so we can now invite you to the grand opening of our first Seed Library in Aš - a space where you will be able to change your seeds, draw inspiration, share information, learn about seed production, food self-sufficiency, and an overall sustainable approach to our planet .

Come to the first floor of the Aš Library - adult department on Monday, March 17, 2025 at 5:00 p.m. Pavlína will explain to us what the Seed Library is, explain its principles, teach us how to fold envelopes for the seeds we bring in, and last but not least, she will provide a lot of valuable information about seeding and growing crops.
