Textile Museum – Chateau
Event time: according to opening hours
Organizer: Aš Museum
Event type: Exhibition
The unique multimedia exhibition will reveal various secrets of the monarch's life and will also present a number of interesting exhibits.
Visitors will be guided through the exhibition by the "digitally revived" Rudolf II himself. He will tell them about his little-known youth and his journey to Spain for education, as well as the unique collections that he collected for most of his life and "fans the fire of knowledge" in the alchemical laboratory. Using holograms, Rudolf will also introduce his symbols of majesty (all the crowns with which he was crowned during his life) and the most important objects from his collections. The exhibition Rudolf II. was represented in the multivideomapping by the son of Jan Werich - the Emperor's Baker and the Baker's Emperor - actor, dubber, presenter, but also economist and educator Jiří Werich Petrášek.
Rudolf II. was known for his fascination with alchemy and the occult sciences, as well as his passionate admiration for art and collection of various rarities. In the exhibition, you can take a look at the cabinet of curiosities and the kunstkamera or find out how a Renaissance alchemical laboratory functioned. Among the most interesting and rare exhibits are stuffed animals dressed in various costumes (e.g. pheasant - cardinal, rooster - general, jay - hunter, goose - cook, cat - noblewoman, etc.) or a collection of semi-precious stones and shells.
