The Karlovy Vary Region invites you to an Open Day full of movement, inspiration and experiences

Karlovy Vary (April 23, 2026) The Regional Office of the Karlovy Vary Region invites the general public to a unique Open Day event with the subtitle "Let's Move the Region", which will take place on Saturday, May 23, 2026 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on the premises of regional institutions. The aim of the event is to support health prevention through exercise and offer visitors of all generations inspiration on how to spend their free time actively and meaningfully. The event partner is Let's Move the Czech Republic.

"We want to get the residents of our region moving and show them that movement can be a natural and joyful part of everyday life. That is why the area in Dvory will be transformed into a movement center for one day, where interested people of all ages will be able to come and try all kinds of sports activities. In addition to the individual sports stations themselves, there will be interviews with interesting personalities, musical performances by students of elementary art schools, refreshments will be provided by regional high schools, and there will also be a craft fair, workshops, games for children and much more. I invite all residents of the Karlovy Vary Region to this event of ours, because only together can we move the region," said the Governor of the Karlovy Vary Region, Petr Kubis.

As part of the sports activities, it will be possible to try archery, disc golf, fencing, rowing machine riding, volleyball, floorball, boxing, judo, basketball, hockey, badminton, orienteering, athletics, shooting with the Czech Army, etc. Short Nordic walking walks or chair yoga courses will also be prepared.

The cultural program on the main stage will be provided by students of elementary art schools and regional artists. In the area in front of the Srdcovka café, interviews with personalities from the region, not only from the field of sports, will take place. On the day of the event, the Karlovy Vary Regional Library will also be open, where the Institute of Spa and Balneology, the Karlovy Vary Regional Hospital, the Karlovy Vary Regional Office will have their stands with a presentation of a digital technical map, and a new café will also be in operation in the library premises.

A game will be prepared for children throughout the day, which will take them to individual stations, where they will receive a stamp for completing the task. After handing in the card with the stamps, a small reward will await them. They will also be able to use the Karlovy Vary Museum stand and make something as a souvenir from natural or recycled materials.

Refreshments will be prepared by the Sokolov Trade Secondary School, Cheb Integrated Secondary School, Karlovy Vary Secondary School of Catering and Services, Mariánské Lázně Hotel School and La Fresca Cantina & Café.
