This year we commemorate the 75th anniversary of the Freedom Train , which in 1951 traveled from Aš across the then border into West Germany and became one of the most striking stories of resistance against the communist regime. This year's Railway Day in Aš is also dedicated to this story.
On September 12th and 13th, 2026, you can return to the events that have gone down in the history of our city and the entire country at Aš main station.

🕘 9:50 – ceremonial unveiling of panels with interpretation and opening of the permanent exhibition at the main station

The program will also include a stand of the Aš Information Center with small souvenirs. Visitors will also receive a free children's ticket to the Railway Day in Cheb .
🚆 To Aš by train
You can travel to the event in style – by train . On Saturday, September 12, a steam train will arrive from Cheb to Aš, and on Sunday it will be replaced by a diesel train. There will also be other connections between Cheb and Aš.
☕ There will be snacks and drinks on both days - you can look forward to goodies from Pstruhařství Petrák and coffee from Vintage Coffee Bartákovi .
