Studánka Cinema – Choirmaster

In the early 1990s, talented thirteen-year-old Karolína finds herself faced with the opportunity of a lifetime - she can become a member of a prestigious girls' choir, where her older sister and a number of other competitors already perform. It seems that her extraordinary voice has caught the attention of the respected but also feared choirmaster.

The anticipated psychological drama not only refers to the infamous Bambini di Praga case, but also touches on more general, painful themes of the clash of childhood innocence with power abused by authority. Ondřej Provazník presents this world with maximum sensitivity, without sensationalism and with an emphasis on sincerity of expression. His ability to guide young acting talents and to bring closer the environment in which prestige and recognition are combined with the difficulties of premature adulthood also stands out.
