Selber Burger Festival

On Saturday, May 31st, the Selb Civic Festival will take place from 9:30 a.m., this time in the newly renovated Rosenthalpark by the city's indoor swimming pool. The traditional opening will be the Selber Spielmanns- und Fanfarenzug (music and brass procession), followed by a welcome by the mayor.

During the morning session and until the afternoon, the music of the Egertaler Blaskapelle brass band will be heard, before the next highlight comes in the evening: the band Bananafishbones will arrive in Selb!

In the park and part of the adjacent Hofer Straße, from 10 a.m., a number of local associations and institutions will present a varied program for young and old, demonstrating the diversity of our city.

Children in particular will have a blast: an e-scooter track, football challenges, face painting, glitter tattoos, game and dance stations, and lots of interesting vehicles will put a smile on children's faces.

Throughout the day, there will be a wide range of food on offer in the Rosenthalpark area – from delicious flammkuchen to famous Selb sausages and steaks to various international specialities such as crêpes, langos and much more. There is something for everyone. The celebration will continue until late in the evening with the famous music of Bananafishbones – and of course there will be refreshing drinks such as beer, cocktails or Aperol Spritz.

Our "beach corner" with comfortable seating will create a summer atmosphere. Another highlight will be performances by many clubs that will enrich the festival and show our diversity.

This weekend, the DFG (German-French Society) will celebrate 25 years of the town of Selb's partnership with Beaucouzé in France - with an information stand with French delicacies such as cider, wine and cheese, a folk dance that you can join in, a small art exhibition and the opportunity to try out the French national sport of pétanque on the boule-course.
