Liturgy in Aš

We invite you to an exhibition of Christian liturgy related to the Aš region.

Traditional liturgical objects will be on display - mass chalices, altar crosses, candlesticks and more, as well as old paintings from local churches, paintings with Christian themes, prayer books and Bibles.

One of the most eye-catching exhibits is the historical chasubles – these are the outer liturgical vestments used by priests, especially in the Roman Catholic Church. Since priests served with their backs to the faithful during Mass, the most decorative part of these vestments is their back. You can see part of one of the chasubles on display on the exhibition poster. Come and see it for yourself!

Most of the exhibited objects come from the collection of the Aš Museum. The exhibition was created in cooperation with the Roman Catholic Parish of Aš, to which we would like to thank for the loan of authentic liturgical objects and for the significant contribution to the educational value of the exhibition.
