The nationwide event LIBRARY WEEK will come to ours again.
This year we will start a little earlier, on Saturday , October 4, 2025, with the traditionalBOOK BAZAAR time of 9:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. So that you can replenish your home bookshelves . The bazaar will then continue during normal opening hours throughout October .
On Monday, October 6, 2025 , actors from the West Bohemian Theatre in Cheb will come to our library to read from the experimental novel BYT . The novel by Jána Šrámková and Jan Němec , published by the HOST publishing house this spring, is an interesting and unconventional probe into the female and male world . We start reading at 5:00 p.m. and where else but in the adult section. Admission is free.
On Thursday, October 9, 2025 , a lecture ABOUT TREES will take place in our Seed Library . For the second time , dendrologist and garden architect Eva Beránková will come to us. You will learn how to care for trees in the garden, how and where to buy, what species to choose, and how to plant and protect a tree. The lecture starts at 5:00 p.m. and the entrance fee is 100 CZK.
The last event of LIBRARY WEEK will be a lecture by the founder and director of the MILA organization, Simona Bagarová, entitled CARING IS POWER . The lecture follows the photo exhibition of the same name, which will take place in our library in the spring. The MILA organization helps professional and non-professional caregivers throughout the Czech Republic . The lecture will take place in the adult department on October 10, 2025 at 10:00 a.m. and is free. Registration for the event is required - here .
Tickets for paid events can be purchased now in the adult readers' section during regular opening hours. Space is limited, so don't wait too long to get yours.
