Congratulations. You have just received perhaps the first comprehensive list of the most interesting trails in western Bohemia called Walking through Aš . These are the most popular trips of locals that we have recorded in a brochure, which you can view online or directly at the Aš Infocenter. The routes of the individual trails are described briefly, concisely, and most importantly, clearly. You can use the brochure as inspiration for interesting trips or literally follow the instructions that you will find here. The publication Walking through Aš contains five trails: the Educational Trail On the Way to the Three Kingdoms, a trip to the Westernmost Point of the Czech Republic, an expedition to the lookout tower on Háj Hill to the ruins in Podhradí, a walk from Doubrava along the Educational Trail through the Bílý Halštrov Valley and a trip to Goethový skaly via the Bílý Halštrov spring. If you like a helping hand when traveling and want to learn something interesting, then Walking through Aš is the right thing for you.
On the way to the Three Kingdoms
The first trip includes the Nature Trail, which is located near the town of Hranice. It leads through the beautiful landscape of the Bystřina – Lužní potok protected area to the historical point where the borders of three states meet. Bohemia, Bavaria and Saxony. On the way, you will be accompanied by the elf Trojmezníček, who will tell you interesting facts about nature and history. In total, you will meet 9 information boards: Trojmezí, Státní hranice, U Lenka, Perlorodka, Kaiserhammer, Trojstátí and others.
Westernmost point
Another interesting trail is the trail of the westernmost territory of our country. You will reach the westernmost point of the Czech Republic. Along the way, you will see the beauties of the Smrčiny Nature Park. You will visit the village of Krásná, Újezd, Štítarská štola, the town of Aš and many other places worth seeing.
Lookout tower on Háj – Podhradí hill
The following trip is full of legends and mysteries. You will have the opportunity to see a beautiful view from the Háj lookout tower. In Podhradí you can see the ruins of Neuberg Castle. Just watch out for the local ghost – Nahřbetskoče.
Doubrava
On the Doubrava - Bílého Halštrov Valley trail, you will definitely enjoy the peaceful environment and the sound of the Bílého Halštrov stream near the remains of the paper mill in Doubrava. The breathtaking castle in Kopaniny will definitely not let you pass by without stopping.
Goethe's Rocks – Bílý Halštrov spring
Last but not least, we recommend a trail that will take you to a place that is loved not only by climbers, but also by the German poet and novelist JW Goethe. The westernmost climbing location even got its name after him. This is Goethe's Rocks, a magical place ideal not only for climbing, but also for a pleasant rest in a breathtaking landscape.
