After the death of his beloved wife, eighty-year-old Vavřinec Novotný feels lonely. To unite his extended but estranged family, he comes up with an unusual plan: he sells the family estate – Slánská hora – and announces a competition. The first of his descendants to have a child will win a million euros.

This news sets off an avalanche of events. Daughter Jitka, trapped in an unsatisfactory marriage with conspirator Pavel, decides to make a radical change and revive her intimate life. Her brother Jirka, a bankrupt restaurant owner and unsuccessful MMA fighter, sees the competition as a chance to pay off his debts and save himself from creditors, despite the opposition of his partner Monika. Another daughter, unsuccessful Lída, who is drowning in self-pity, is eliminated from the family competition. Granddaughter Alice, a beautiful and talented singer, activates all her former partners again and ends up trying to conceive "accidentally" with her long-time love Mark. And grandson Petr, a gay man longing for a family, gets involved in a complicated plan with his friend Zuzka.

The Million Euro Race reveals family secrets, partner crises, unfulfilled dreams and hidden desires. The characters find themselves in absurd situations, take desperate steps and face unexpected obstacles. At the same time, they rediscover the strength of family ties and realize what is truly important in life. Which of Lavřinec's children will succeed in fulfilling his dream of more grandchildren? And will money or love and family cohesion win in the end?
