Behind the nature of the Aš region, its history and present

A longer walk from the Hazlov granites around the world-famous egeran deposit, through Goethe's rocks to the Mokřín ortoruli...
along the way we will focus on rocks, minerals, lichens, landscape, history and the present...
we'll try to solve a few mysteries and have tea and coffee depending on the time!

Start:

Hazlov train station, October 3, 2026 (Saturday), 10:10 a.m.
(train departure to Hazlov from Aš main station at 9:51 a.m. )

Route length:

approx. 11 km (maybe a little longer)

Target:

historical wetland quarry on the ortorula ("behind the school")

What to bring:

a cup or small mug for coffee and tea (the organizer is responsible for the stove and kettle)...
if you will be collecting natural materials (i.e. rocks, lichens, etc.) along the way, bring paper bags (or newspapers) to wrap the samples in . You will also need a light backpack , a regular (medium) hammer, a magnifying glass , a pencil or marker, a camera/charged mobile phone and harder paper for notes...
Of course, suitable (ideally tourist) clothing is a must, especially good shoes and several layers of outerwear , an umbrella or raincoat may also come in handy (the walk takes place in all weather conditions - it can rain or - which is sometimes common in the Aš region - snow)!

Attention:

The walk is not suitable for people with limited mobility or strollers (the route also leads through off-road terrain and we climb rocks)
During the outing, everyone moves at their own risk and parents are responsible for their children
no one can forget a snack and a drink (good luck to the organizer too :-)!
